Discovery Scuba Diving in Archipelago La Maddalena National Park

You're in Porto Pollo and you're about to experience 4 hours that will make you discover the sea as you've never seen it before: a Discovery Scuba Diving guided by an expert instructor, perfect for your first time underwater!

On board an inflatable boat you will reach the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, where you will dive among colourful fish and surprising seabeds.

What we will do

The appointment will be at Porto Pollo in the province of Olbia-Tempio, where we will meet about 15 minutes before the start of the activity. We will be welcomed by the diving instructor who will accompany us throughout the Discovery Scuba Diving experience.

After an initial welcome, we will begin with dressing and preparing the equipment provided by the diving centre. Immediately afterwards, we will participate in an introductory briefing on board the dinghy, during which the theoretical basics of diving will be explained.

We will then set sail towards the La Maddalena Archipelago National Park, reaching the dive site in about 20 minutes. On the way, the instructor will go over the basic procedures so that we arrive in the water prepared and relaxed.

Once there, we will begin with some exercises in shallow water: we will learn how to compensate, how to put on the mask correctly, how to empty it from the water, and how to handle the regulator. All the exercises will be carried out first on the surface and then directly in the water, always under the supervision of the instructor.

We will then begin the actual dive, which will last about 40 minutes and take us down to a maximum depth of 6-7 metres (4 metres for children up to the age of 10) . During the descent, we will be able to observe damselfish, sargos, barracudas, groupers and, with a bit of luck, rays and nudibranches.

At the end of the dive we will re-board the dinghy, where tea and biscuits will be waiting for us for a moment of relaxation.

The experience will last about four hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up. Children under the age of 18 may participate if accompanied by a responsible adult.

It is not necessary to have a diving licence to participate in the activity, but good physical condition and good health is required. In addition, it is not possible to participate if you have a cold or are pregnant.

Scuba diving is not recommended during the 24 hours before or after a flight.

The activity is not accessible to persons with motor disabilities.

Other information

The experience takes place from May to September and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants.

The excursion takes place on board a 7. 5-metre dinghy with a 200-horsepower engine. The itinerary and stops may vary depending on weather and sea conditions at the instructor's discretion.

Upon advance request and payment of a surcharge on site, it will be possible to purchase a second dive, which will take place during the same excursion. Contact the guide at the contact details on your booking confirmation e-mail for more information.

There is a storage room for personal items on site and showers are available. There are no dedicated changing rooms.

Any accompanying persons can participate in the experience on board the raft or stay at the diving centre. Their presence is free of charge if they accompany a participating child (one adult per child) . Otherwise, they pay 30€ directly on site. There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
