Full description
Discover the wonderful seabed on theIsland of Elba with a boat trip and an introductory scuba diving course. You could fall in love with a new sport!
The basic rules of scuba diving will be explained to you, you will try out and get to know all the equipment needed to explore the mysteries and beauties of the underwater world and, when everything is clear, you will take part in the dive accompanied individually by a diving instructor with many years of experience.
Scuba diving is an exciting, complete and fun sport that will give you the opportunity to come into contact with marine flora and fauna, admire the secrets of the seabed and immerse yourself in a world of colourful hues. What are you waiting for to try it?
What we will do
The activity begins with a meeting at our premises in Portoferraio, where the instructor will welcome you and help you choose the right sizeequipment for you.
Afterwards, you will attend a land-based lesson of about 30 minutes, which will be used to familiarise you with the equipment and learn the basic rules for diving and safety procedures. After that, you will be ready to enter the water together with the instructor!
You will jump into the boat and set off to the dive area within a marine park that offers the possibility of encountering a large number of fish. There you will begin your underwater experience, always accompanied by your instructor. You will reach a moderate depth, usually around 5 metres, and experience the thrill of breathing underwater and feeling like a real diver!
The scuba diving trip takes about 3 hours, including pre- and post-dive trips, and is suitable for everyone. No special experience is required, just good water confidence and a desire to try a new experience!
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone, including children aged 8 and up.
You do not need to be an expert swimmer, but good health, good aquatics and confidence in the sea are required.
Other information
Attention. You must arrive at the meeting place at least 15 minutes before the time chosen for the activity.
The participation fee includes allequipment required for the dive.
You will be able to change at our venue and leave your belongings in special safety lockers.
It is possible to make a video of the experience, which will be paid for on site and sent via the Internet afterwards.
The activity is bookable from April to October.
It is strongly discouraged to scuba dive 24 hours before an aeroplane flight, as, due to the lower atmospheric pressure on board the plane, nitrogen, which may have remained in the body, may form bubbles inside the tissues that can obstruct the flow of blood.
