Get ready for an exclusive and unforgettablehalf-day experience in the marvellous Santa Maria di Leuco Caves.
Sail aboard the boat Nereide and listen to the stories and legends told by skipper Giovanni.
Dive in for a swim or a snorkelling session, be thrilled by the sight of the two seas meeting and taste the typical products of Salento cuisine!
What we will do
We will meet skipper Giovanni at the port of Torre Vado, where we will board the Nereide, a comfortable 8-metre boat that can accommodate up to 12 people.
Before the departure, we will express to the skipper our needs and preferences on stops along the way. Afterwards, we will explore the wonderful caves of Salento.
Among the Ionian caves, we will visit the Grotta del Drago, Stalla e Presepe, Grotta dei Giganti, le 3 porte, Grotta del Bambino and Grotta del Fiume. The Adriatic caves include Terradico, Tenda degli Indiani, Grotta dei Gabbiani, Verdusella, Grotta del Soffio and Grotta della Vora.
Each cave has its own history and beauty, which Giovanni will tell us with passion and competence.
Sailing in the direction of Santa Maria di Leuca, we will pass Punta Ristola, the tip of the Salento peninsula, and pass Punta Meliso, the point where the Adriatic Sea and the Ionian Sea meet.
We will make two or more stops to swim in the blue sea reflecting the typical tones of this area. For those who want to snorkel, we will have on board integral masks for adults and children and all the supports to swim comfortably and safely.
Finally, an aperitif will be served with typical products of Salento cuisine, served in eco-friendly single-portion boxes and accompanied by prosecco, water and lemon or peach tea.
We will then return to the port of Torre Vado after about three and a half hours of the tour.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to all, with no age limit. Children aged 0 to 2 years participate free of charge.
The tour is accessible to persons with mobility disabilities, but not wheelchairs.
Other information
The tour can be booked from April to October and is intended for private groups of up to 12 participants.
Nereide is a traditional boat built by the prestigious Genoese shipyard Bianchi & Cecchi. It is 8 metres long and has every comfort, including comfortable seating, a small sundeck, an awning to shelter from the sun and a shower to cool off.
Dogs are allowed on board.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
