Full description
Ride through woods, meadows and hills in the Pisan countryside on a 2-hour ride suited to your level.
You will meet your horse at a riding school in Casciana Terme Lari and become familiar with him by grooming and saddling him. The instructor will teach you the particularities of bitless riding and its benefits for the animals.
Once in the saddle, you will tackle stretches of forest, steep climbs and descents that will give you the opportunity to experience different types of gaits. Surrounded by a magnificent hilly landscape, you will enjoy the view of the sea of Rosignano Marittima and the beauty of nature.
What we will do
The appointment is at our riding school in Casciana Terme Lari, which is home to 16 sweet and tame horses also used for hippotherapy.
The first part of the activity will be a short 30-minute lesson to become familiar with the horse we will be assigned and to discover the philosophy of ethological bitless riding. This type of riding is chosen for the welfare of the animals, as it does not involve commands through tugging on the reins, but only through the halter and the rider's movements.
The introductory briefing will also include cleaning and saddling the horse and a series of ground games to break the ice.
Once in the saddle, we will immerse ourselves in the quiet of the Pisan countryside and take a road that leads to a climb in the woods. Reaching the top, we will ride along a dirt road until we reach the windmill park and the ruins of Matilda's Tower.
We will continue through the woods, enjoying pleasant shade and a light breeze, until we come to a wide meadow. Here we will pause to admire the panorama overlooking the sea of Rosignano Marittima.
We will then climb back into the saddle to conclude our two-hour circular route to the initial gravel road. The most exciting challenge of the route will be at the end, when we will face a steep descent. Depending on our level of safety, we can decide to continue on horseback or descend on foot alongside him.
The total duration of the activity will be 2½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is aimed at experienced riders able to ride at a walk, trot and gallop, from the age of 14. The course includes descents, climbs and branches to be dodged.
Pleasenote: the weight limit required for the activity is 110 kg. After receiving your booking confirmation, please contact the organisers to inform them of your height and weight in order to facilitate the allocation of horses.

The walk takes place all year round and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
