Full description

Experience an extraordinary emotion thanks to a hot-air balloon ride over the Assisi Valley, in the heart ofUmbria, an area dotted with Roman and medieval villages, rich in vineyards and olive groves: a true feast for the eyes and soul!

Let yourself be carried away by the wind and look out of the wicker basket to admire from above theharmony of nature and some of the most beautiful villages in Italy.

You'll be in very good hands: our pilot, Captain Peter, will take you flying, guaranteeing acomfortable and safe experience. And waiting for you on landing, a wine tasting and sumptuous Umbrian breakfast.

What we will do

We will meet at the Cantine Dionigi in Bevagna (PG), from which point we will take off in the early hours of the morning (around 6: 30am ), the perfect time of day to fly in a hot air balloon, thanks to the cooler temperatures and more favourable currents.

We will be welcomed by the staff and, first, Captain Peter will give an orientation and safety briefing. After that, we will board the basket and prepare to take off and float through the air.

Throughout the flight, we will enjoy the view of the Umbrian hills, dotted with medieval villages of immortal charm, such as Bevagna, Assisi and Spello, and the captain will tell us stories and anecdotes about the major landmarks.

After about 1 hour of flight, the hot air balloon will land and we will be shuttled back to Cantine Dionigi, where we will end the experience on a high note with a glass of Prosecco, a breakfast in perfect Umbrian style, and a tasting of Sagrantino, the region's native grape variety.

In total, the activity will last about three hours. Afterwards, those who wish can stay and visit the cellars and relax in this magnificent place.

Who it is aimed at

Hot air ballooning is a suitable activity for everyone, from the age of 6. The only restrictions are for pregnant women, those who have undergone surgery in the last 6 months, and those who suffer from neck, back or lower limb disorders.

Other information

This activity is bookable from April to October, subject to weather conditions, and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 14 participants.

Important: the activity is strictly dependent on weather, wind and air traffic conditions. The day before the flight, no later than 19:00, the organisation will confirm the time and course by e-mail, after having obtained authorisation to fly from ENAC.

If you are unable to travel by car, pick-up can be organised at several meeting points in Umbria. Contact us privately for more information.
