Are you looking for an exciting activity in contact with nature? Have you never ridden a horse or has some time passed and would you like to relive the experience?
Then don't miss our horseback ride in the heart of the Maremma. The day-long excursion will take you from Manciano along the banks of the Albegna river.
In complete safety and accompanied by an equestrian guide, you will enjoy enchanting views, ride through woods and across expanses of grass and even bathe in the river together with the horses. What are you waiting for?
What we will do
Our activity will begin in the morning: we will meet at the riding school in Manciano (GR) at 9.45 a.m., a quarter of an hour before the scheduled departure time. If this is the first time riding a horse, we will have a short introductory briefing to understand how to approach this docile animal and learn how to handle it independently with a few simple rules.
At 10 a.m. we will be in the saddle, ready to go. We will ride along an itinerary immersed in nature in the direction of the Albegna river.
The guide will accompany us on horseback as we ride through beech and maple forests. During the excursion, we will cross old customs roads, villages and fords, and we will also catch a glimpse of the village of Montemerano in the heart of the Maremma.
Around 12:30, we will reach an inlet of the Albegna river, an ideal place to recharge our batteries and experience the thrill of bareback riding (i.e. without a saddle). We will bathe and swim together with the horses.
On the river bank we will eat a packed lunch (included). A sandwich stuffed with typical cold cuts, water to drink and a cake for dessert await us.
After a break of about two hours by the river, we will get back in the saddle. On the return journey to the riding stables we will ride along a different route, the famous ring that runs along the Albegna river bed.
Return is scheduled for 18:00 hours. The total duration of the activity is 8 hours, while riding the horse will be approximately 6 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is of medium level. Although it is also aimed at beginners from 14 years of age, it is preferable that participants have good physical fitness to be able to tackle a full day's riding.

The activity is available from May to September.
A packed lunch is included in the fee. In case of allergies, food intolerances or vegetarian or vegan menu choices, please contact the guide in advance.
Both types of mounts, English and American, are available.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
