Add a touch of magic to your holiday in Sardinia!
Saddle up and ride off into the sunset on the Porto Ferro beach near Alghero. Breathe in the cool sea breeze as you ride along the beach with your guide, amidst the lapping of the waves and the colours of the sky.
Aone-and-a-half-hour experience that will feel like a spell!
What we will do
We will meet at the riding school in the Sassari countryside, 10 minutes before the indicated time.
Upon arrival, we will meet our equestrian guide, fill out the insurance forms and receive the helmet to wear during the activity. We will then have a briefing of about 10 minutes, during which we will learn how to handle our horse and give the main commands.
Once ready, we will begin our ride through a lush pine forest, enveloped by the scents of the Mediterranean scrub. We will reach the sand dunes near the sea and continue to the Porto Ferro beach, which we will admire atsunset.
Here, in high season, we will be able to enter the beach keeping a certain distance from the water, while during the rest of the year it will be possible to ride more freely close to the shoreline. After experiencing the thrill of horse riding on the beach, we will turn back towards Lake Baratz and ride one last stretch along the shoreline.
The route will be about 7 km, almost entirely on dirt tracks, with only a small stretch on asphalt. Our guide will accompany us on foot with the lunghina, guaranteeing a safe experience suitable for everyone.
The total duration of the activity, including the briefing, will be one and a half hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable from the age of 6. Minors must be accompanied to the riding school by an adult to sign the forms, but can participate on their own under the supervision of the guide.
The experience is of an easy level and ideal as a first horse ride.
The maximum weight for participation is 89 kg.
Other information
The activity takes place all year round.
English riding is used.
Any accompanying persons can wait in the riding hall during the activity; dogs on a leash are permitted.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; there is free parking at the riding school.
As an extra to be paid on site, a return transfer service from Alghero is available for 1-3 people, at a cost of €50 per group. After booking confirmation, contact the guide to request the transfer.
