Full description
Discover the charm of Assisi with a carriage ride through the narrow streets of the town and the surrounding countryside and enjoy a delicious lunch of typical products and a tasting of 4 wines at a wine cellar.
Accompanied by the rhythm of the horses' hooves, you will enjoy an evocative itinerary, getting out of the carriage to visit some iconic places such as the Franciscan Sanctuary of Rivotorto and the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli.
All this in the shadow of Mount Subasio, which dominates the Umbrian valley with its slopes covered in thick forests and rich in biodiversity.
What we will do
We will meet at Rivotorto, a hamlet of Assisi (PG). We will be welcomed by guides and horses already harnessed and ready to take us for a ride. We will climb into the carriage and move in the direction of the Franciscan Sanctuary.
Here we will stop to visit the Tugurio, a small ancient stone settlement where the saint of Assisi founded the Franciscan order. We will then reach the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, and inside we will visit the Porziuncola chapel, an obligatory stop for all pilgrims.
On the way back we will admire the countryside around Assisi and Rivotorto, be immersed in a dimension of absolute tranquillity and breathe in an atmosphere that seems suspended in time and history.
The carriage ride lasts about 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is suitable for everyone with no age limit. A reduced rate of €60.00 per participant is reserved for children from 5 to 14 years of age: contact us to make a reservation if you are in the company of children under 14. Children from 0 to 4 years old participate free of charge: contact the guide to indicate their presence on board.

This activity can be carried out all year round, subject to weather conditions and the availability of guides.
The tour is private. Apart from the guides, there will only be you and the people you wish to take with you in the carriage. Each carriage can carry a maximum of 5 people. For groups of several participants, 2 carriages will be used.
A shuttle service to and from Assisi and surrounding areas, within a radius of 30 km, is available on request at a cost of €30 round trip.
