Horse riding in the countryside of Casciana Terme Lari

Experience the thrill of a horseback ride along white roads, pine forests and olive groves in the Pisan countryside.

The activity includes an initial approach to the horse with a brief lesson on ethological riding used in the riding school. That is, you will learn to give commands only with delicate movements of your body and with the halter. In this way you will enjoy the ride while respecting your horse's well-being.

Don't worry if you've never ridden a horse before, because your riding guide will be by your side throughout the entire ride. Our sweet animals can't wait to make friends with you!

What we will do

We will meet at our ranch in Casciana Terme Lari, in the province of Pisa, and get to know our horses. The guide will assign an animal to each participant, choosing the most suitable one from the 16 animals on the ranch.

After taking the horses out of the paddock, we will clean and saddle them to begin making friends with them, with ground games and a good dose of cuddles. Only after we have broken the ice will we climb into the saddle and rehearse several times to find the right posture.

The first half-hour will be devoted to a small lesson to allow everyone to become familiar with these magnificent animals and the type of riding. We will, in fact, use ethological riding, i.e. without bit, with English or American saddles. This type of riding is particularly respectful of the horse's wellbeing, as it is only controlled by means of the halter and the weight of the body.

After finishing this introductory part, we will be ready to begin our ride. We will ride through white roads, pine forests and viewpoints, from which we can admire the beautiful towns of Volterra and Pontedera in the distance. We will cross a stretch of Mediterranean scrub with gorse and arrive in an olive grove, where we will stop to take some souvenir photos with the horses.

We will then continue the walk, returning to the dirt road and always keeping awalking pace. Throughout the ride there will always be a staff person beside the horse to make sure that everything goes smoothly.

The route will be made even more exciting by encounters with the local fauna of hares and deer. We will thus experience the thrill of approaching them riding our horse, whose presence calms the wild animals, who tend to be friendlier and less frightened of human presence.

We will finally return to the ranch after a one-hour walk. The total duration of the activity will be oneand a half hours.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is at an easy level and aimed at everyone from 3 years of age. For children aged 3 to 14 years , the presence of an accompanying adult is required. You are also requested to notify the organiser of your presence (you will receive his/her contact details by email with the booking confirmation).

The ride is also suitable for disabled persons with a medical certificate, as the very tame horses are also used for hippotherapy.

Pleasenote: the required weight limit for the activity is 110 kg. After receiving your booking confirmation, please contact the organisers to inform them of your height and weight in order to facilitate the allocation of horses.

Other information

The walk takes place all year round with different times depending on the season.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
