Private horse trekking in the hills of Florence and tasting in a historic residence

Discover on horseback the Chianti hills, an area of great Italian wines known and appreciated throughout the world. The area winds around Florence, past lush vineyards, lush olive groves, historic villas and castles: a bucolic setting where absolute peace reigns.

This is a perfect activity for couples, families and groups of friends who enjoy combining the outdoors with history and good food. After the horseback ride, a special wine tasting and guided tour of a historic 15th century mansion will take place, with a light lunch included. It will be an unforgettable experience in true Florentine style!

What we will do

We will meet at 9:00 a.m. in Florence and then move (each by our own means) with the guide who will lead the way to the equestrian centre, located in the hills a few kilometres from the city. There we will meet the riding instructors and horses. We will be given theequipment and, after a short briefing on the basic rules of riding, we will begin the walk.

In approximately 1 hour we will complete a wild ride through open countryside, suitable for all levels of experience: beginners can simply trot along and the more experienced can indulge in galloping stretches, always in complete safety.

After the ride, we will return to the equestrian centre and from there move on to a luxurious private historical estate dating back to the 15th century. We will discover the estate, its cellars, the secrets of winemaking and finally sit down for a light lunch, during which we will have the privilege of tasting the estate's products: wines, olive oil and the typical vinsanto with cantuccini.

After lunch we will enjoy a few more moments of relaxation in this wonderful environment before returning. The activity lasts about 5 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level, is suitable for everyone and no horse riding experience is needed. The minimum age to participate is 14.

This activity is exclusive and aimed at private groups of 2 to 8 participants.

The activity can also be held in the afternoon, with departure at 3.30 p.m. and dinner included. Programme and price will not change.

Transfers from one point to another are by own means. If you do not have your own transport or prefer to leave your car at home, after booking you can contact the guide and ask for a return transfer service (80€/pax up to 4 people, 50€/pax from 5 to 8 people).

The meeting point is in Florence, but if you prefer to reach the riding school independently with your own vehicle, you can make arrangements with the guide, who will give you the exact address a few days beforehand.

If you are a vegetarian/vegan or suffer from food intolerances, let the organiser know after booking and we will work out a menu proposal to suit your needs.

Times may vary slightly depending on the season. You will receive a confirmation from the organiser a few days before the excursion.
