Private horse trekking in the Chianti hills and lunch at a farmhouse

The horseback ride will take place in the Chianti hills, among lush vineyards, olive groves and historic residences. The environmental equestrian guide will accompany you on a very evocative itinerary, and when your appetite is at the right point, you will indulge in the joys of the palate in a typical Tuscan agriturismo.

It will be a totally relaxing experience, allowing you to escape for half a day from the hectic pace of daily life and explore a timeless dimension. And if you have never ridden a horse, this is the right opportunity to try it!

What we will do

The appointment is 15 minutes before the selected time at the agreed meeting point. If the transfer service is not requested, we will meet with the guide at the riding school in the province of Florence; if the transfer service is requested, we will meet with the guide in the centre of Florence and then reach the riding school.

Once at the riding school and having received the equipment, we will mount the saddle and learn the basics of horse riding. The guide will not fail to provide all useful information for a carefree experience. This first moment will last approximately 10 minutes.

The ride will take place at a leisurely pace (the more experienced riders will be able to indulge in some galloping) and will follow a beautiful itinerary immersed in the Florentine hills and countryside, among orchards, vineyards and olive groves. We will ride past historic residences and prestigious agricultural estates, and find ourselves in the area where the highly prized Chianti, a wine of excellence exported all over the world, is produced.

After about an hour 's ride, we will return to the stables, say goodbye to the horses, and prepare to move on to an adjacent agriturismo where an excellent lunch accompanied by wine tasting will be waiting for us. Lunch included in the price includes a first course of your choice, a platter of typical cold cuts and cheeses, a dessert of vinsanto and cantuccini, and a glass of Chianti Classico.

The activity lasts about 5 hours. After lunch, we can enjoy a few more moments of relaxation in the vicinity of the farmhouse, and then bid farewell to the next excursion.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an easy level, is suitable for everyone and no horse riding experience is needed. The minimum age to participate is 14.

The experience takes place all year round. The experience could also take place in the rain at the guide's discretion; waterproof coats will be provided. The experience is also available in the afternoon with departure at 3.30 pm and dinner included; programme and price unchanged.

It is possible to leave from the centre of Florence by taking advantage of the transfer service for a fee or go directly to the riding school located in the province of Florence. The riding school has free parking and cannot be reached by public transport.
