Get ready to immerse yourself in the most authentic Sicily!
This 2-hour horseback ride will take you past scenic trails, vineyards, olive groves and ancient sulphur mines in theAgrigento hinterland.
It will be a unique opportunity to discover the beauty of the area and local history in the company of an expert guide. And, if this is your first time on horseback, it is the perfect setting to start!
What we will do
The meeting point will be 15 minutes before the indicated time at Grotte (AG), where you will be met by your guide.
Before leaving, you can visit the stables to get to know the horses better and establish initial contact with them. The guide will explain the basics of horse riding to you in a briefing lasting about 15 minutes, so that you can master the main commands and correct posture.
Once in the saddle, it's time to start the adventure! The route will take you past the Petra of Calathansuderj, a striking stone mountain that dominates the landscape. You will ride through nature, past olive trees, vines and Mediterranean scents, until you reach a panoramic mule track on the hill, from where you can admire the surrounding villages and take some souvenir photos.
You will then continue towards the ancient sulphur mines, protagonists of many pages of Sicilian history and literary works. The guide will tell you stories and curiosities related to these places, making the experience even more meaningful.
The route will be about 6 km long and will include flat stretches, ascents and descents, which even the less experienced can tackle safely thanks to the presence of the guide.
The walk will end with a return to the starting point after about two hours in the saddle.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 14 and up. Any minors must be accompanied by an adult.
No horse riding experience is required to participate.
The maximum weight for participation is 110 kg.

The activity takes place throughout the year, privately for groups of 1 to 4 participants.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport; free parking is available on site.
