Sardinia hides an unspoilt place characterised by wild nature, rocky mountains and golden sandy beaches: the Sulcis Iglesiente. Located in the south-west of the island, Sulcis is a wonderful region just waiting to be discovered.
Explore it with a horseback ride suitable for beginners, which will take you from Matzaccara to the most beautiful places in the area, from the beach of Punta Trettu to San Giovanni Suergiu.

What we will do
We’ll meet at the riding school in Matzaccara, a small hamlet of San Giovanni Suergiu in southern Sardinia. Here, the guide will welcome us and hold a briefing of around 30 minutes to teach or revise the main techniques for handling the horse.
We’ll have a go at riding inside the riding school, under the guide’s watchful eye, before setting off on our ride. The route is a circular trail through the Mediterranean scrub, allowing us to visit the area’s most interesting sites.
We’ll visit Punta Trettu beach, a strip of golden sand famous for kitesurfing and its crystal-clear waters, where we’ll be able to admire the islets of Sant’Antioco and Carloforte ahead of us and ride right onto the beach.
We’ll ride at a leisurely pace for about two and a half hours, keeping to a walking pace. If the guide allows it, we’ll be able to trot for a few stretches before returning to the riding centre.
Finally, we’ll return to the meeting point where an aperitif will be waiting for us: an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink accompanied by savoury snacks. The experience lasts approximately 3 hours in total.

Suitable for everyone over the age of 14. No horse riding experience is required.
The weight limit is 100 kg.

The experience can be booked all year round and is confirmed once a minimum of two participants has been reached.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
