Full description

Forget everyday life for a while with ahorseback ride at high altitude. Let yourself be caressed by the rarefied mountain air, immerse yourself in the uncontaminated nature of the Aosta Valley and experience the union with an animal that has always accompanied man in his adventures.

Together with an equestrian guide , you will ride up the Valle d'Aosta trails, through coniferous forests and breathtaking mountain views, towards Mont Fallère, which, at 3,061 m above sea level, overlooks Mont Blanc and offers an unforgettable view.

An activity of total contact with the environment, 5 hours on horseback to live your passion for riding and the mountains to the fullest, an experience to keep in the drawer of fond memories.

What we will do

The meeting will be at around 10 a.m. at the riding school in Vetan, a hamlet of the picturesque village of Saint Pierre, a few kilometres from Aosta. Before setting off, the equestrian guides will assess our riding skills, in order to ensure a route suited to our level and anenjoyable and safe experience.

When we are ready, we will begin our ride along the mountain trails that climb in altitude from Vetan towards the Refuge de Mont Fallère. The route is varied, allows trotting and galloping gaits and has some rather technical sections on uneven ground. In short, there will be fun to be had in the saddle!

By lunchtime, we will arrive at an agritourism where we will stop to rest and enjoy the flavours of Valle d'Aosta cuisine (lunch is not included in the price, those who prefer can have a packed meal).

After refreshments, we will set off towards our destination. Awaiting us will be what is considered the most beautiful refuge in the Velle d'Aosta and, not far away, a marvellous little alpine lake with crystal-clear waters.

Here we will be able to dismount the horses, explore the surroundings, take photos of the landscape and breathe in thepure air of high altitude (we will be at 2,385 m above sea level). If there is enough time, those who wish can continue on foot and climb to the summit of Mont Fallère via an equipped trail. The climb is quite demanding, but the effort of conquering the 3,061 m peak will be repaid by a magnificent 360° panorama of the surrounding mountains.

Around 4.30 p.m. we will be back in Vetan, after having spent about five hours on horseback. If we feel like it, we can end the day with an in-depth visit to the estate, observing the owners in thecare of the horses and other animals and witnessing the processes of processing the milk used to make Fontina AOC cheese.
