Horse riding in the woods of Poppiano

Have you always been told that Tuscany is beautiful? Wait until you discover it on horseback.

This one-hour ride will take you into the heart of the Florentine countryside, through vineyards, golden fields and a wood with an almost fairy-tale charm. You will cross rows of vines and paths surrounded by greenery, until you can see the outline of Poppiano Castle on the horizon.

An experience suitable for beginners, to discover Tuscany from a new perspective.

What we will do

The rendezvous is at the ranch in Montespertoli (FI), 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking. On arrival, we will be welcomed by the equestrian guide in a warm and familiar atmosphere. We will be offered a coffee or a glass of water to refresh us before starting the experience.

After this welcome moment, the equestrian guide will assign us the most suitable horse and provide us with a protective helmet. We will then begin the 30-minute briefing to learn how to ride a horse and become familiar with this majestic and generous animal.

Once in the saddle, we will begin our 1-hour ride through the vineyards and open fields surrounding the ranch. The approximately 4 km route will take us through an enchanted forest, where the light filters through the trees and the silence of nature creates an almost magical atmosphere.

Coming out of the wood, the panorama will open out onto the hills with the majestic Poppiano Castle as a backdrop, a picture postcard that will accompany us along the return path. Back at the ranch, we will be able to stop and relax, enjoying the view and the tranquillity of the place.

The activity will last 1½ hours in total, including a welcome, briefing and horseback riding.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone from the age of 14. Minors may take part in the ride unaccompanied by a parent.

No horse riding experience is required to participate, only good mobility and a maximum weight of 95 kg.

Other information

The activity takes place all year round, from Monday to Saturday.

The mount used is the American mount .

To participate in the activity, you must wear trainers or boots with a smooth sole (no flip-flops, sandals or heels). In case of unsuitable clothing, the activity will not be possible and you will not be entitled to a refund.

To activate thedaily insurance, after completing the booking, you will have to communicate to the guide: name, surname, date and place of birth, residence, tax code (for Italians), passport number (if foreigners).

The ranch can be reached by car or by public transport. The bus from Florence to Baccaiano is only available in the morning, with free pick-up at the bus stop. Alternatively, a pick-up service can be arranged with the organisers for a fee from Florence or Empoli. The pick-up must be requested at least 2 days before the activity and must be paid on site in cash.
