Full description

Discover the Alps of the Aosta Valley on ahorseback excursion and experience the unspoilt nature of the mountains together with a very special friend!

In the saddle of this faithful travelling companion, you will set off from the village of Saint Pierre to reach the Vertosan valley, along an evocative itinerary little travelled by tourists.

A tour that does not present any particular technical difficulties and is suitable for those who want to practise riding immersed in an unforgettable landscape.

Accompanied by our expert guides, you will lead your horse on a real mountain ride, climbing high altitude trails for a day of sport, nature and fun! day of sport, nature and fun!

What we will do

The meeting point for the start of the tour is at 10 a .m. at the riding school in Vetan, a hamlet of the village of Saint Pierre a few kilometres from Aosta. Upon arrival, we will be welcomed by the equestrian guides who will give us a tour of the estate and show us the horses, which live free on their own pastureland.

Before riding, the guides will assess the riding ability of each participant, in order to get an idea of the general level and to allow everyone to carry out the activity with the necessary safety. After that, we will go over the basic techniques and prepare to leave.

From Vetan we will ride in the direction of the Vertosan valley. This is an esplanade nestled in the Aosta Valley Alps, surrounded by high peaks and crossed by a typical mountain stream. Here, nature grows luxuriant and intact, amidst bright green meadows and fairytale forests populated by deer, roe deer and chamois.

Halfway through the day, we will stop for a well-deserved break at a refuge located in the centre of the valley, where it will be possible to taste some of the area's typical specialities, produced at zero km by Aosta Valley breeders and farmers (lunch at the refuge is not included in the price and is optional; those who prefer to have a packed lunch are free to do so).

Back in Vetan, at the end of the excursion we will be able to continue the experience by observing all the daily activities that take place on the estate, necessary tocare for the horses and the rest of the livestock.

In total, this activity will last about 6 hours, at least 4 of which will be on horseback.
