Full description
Sardinia hides an unspoilt place characterised by wild nature, rocky mountains and golden sandy beaches: the Sulcis Iglesiente. Located in the south-west of the island, Sulcis is a wonderful region just waiting to be discovered.
Explore it with a horseback ride suitable even for beginners, which will take you from Matzaccara to the most beautiful places in the area, from the beach of Punta Trettu to the sphinx of San Giovanni Suergiu.

What we will do
We will meet at the riding school in Matzaccara, a small hamlet of San Giovanni Suergiu in southern Sardinia. Here we will be welcomed by the guide, who will conduct a briefing of about 30 minutes to teach or review the main techniques of horse handling.
We will try riding inside the stables, under the watchful eye of the guide, and then set off for the ride. The route is a loop through the Mediterranean maquis that will allow us to visit the most interesting sites in the area, such as the sphinx of San Giovanni Suergiu, sculpted right on the crest of the mountain.
We will visit the beach of Punta Trettu, a tongue of golden sand famous for kitesurfing and crystal-clear waters, where we can admire the islets of Sant'Antioco and Carloforte in front of us.
We will ride in peace and quiet for about 2½ hours, keeping a briskpace. If the guide allows it, we can do a few stretches at a trot. Finally, back at the riding stables, we will enjoy a small aperitif based on typical products, including beers and local wines such as Carignano.
Between preparation, walk and aperitif, the experience will last about 3 hours in total.

Suitable for everyone over the age of 14. No horse riding experience is required.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
