Scala dei Turchi or the Capo Bianco cliffs? That is the question.
The answer lies in a horse ride in Montallegro, in the province of Agrigento. Accompanied by an equestrian guide, you’ll venture into a picturesque Sicilian natural setting, taking in the countryside, pine forest and beach. You’ll reach the Capo Bianco cliffs, which resemble the nearby and more famous Scala dei Turchi.
All this whilst riding your trusty adventure companion for an hour and a half.
What we will do
We’ll meet at the selected time at the riding school next to the beach, in the seaside resort of Bovo Marina di Montallegro (AG). Our environmental equestrian guide will be there to welcome us at the riding school!
On arrival, she’ll introduce us to our assigned horse , which we’ll then finish saddling in preparation for the adventure ahead. She’ll then help us mount in the English style and teach us the basics of horse riding so we can enjoy this experience with complete peace of mind.
Now it’s time for our horse ride: we’ll set off into the natural surroundings near the riding centre, heading towards Eraclea Minoa. We’ll ride a short stretch through the countryside, amongst olive and almond groves, before venturing into the pine forest and approaching the beach. We’ll then reach the entrance to the Foce del Fiume Platani Nature Reserve, home to the Capo Bianco cliffs: these are very similar to the more famous Scala dei Turchi, which you’ll be able to spot in the distance.
After riding for about 6–7 km, we’ll return to the meeting point, where an aperitif will be waiting for you, with a choice of drinks including water, tea, Coca-Cola, beer or wine, accompanied by a selection of snacks. The horse ride lasts approximately 1½ hours; the whole experience lasts around 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for children from 5 years of age; children under 14 years of age must be accompanied on the walk by an adult, either on horseback or on foot.
A maximum weight of 110 kg is required to participate in this activity.

The experience is available all year round.
The duration of the experience may vary depending on the rider’s ability.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any accompanying guests may join the ride on foot free of charge; any other accompanying guests may remain at the riding centre. Dogs on a lead are permitted at the riding centre.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
