2-hour horse trekking between land and sea in the province of Agrigento with aperitif

Scala dei Turchi or Capo Bianco cliffs? This is the dilemma.

The answer lies in horseback riding in Montallegro, in the province of Agrigento. In the company of an equestrian guide, you will venture into a characteristic Sicilian natural setting of countryside, pine forest and beach. You will reach the Capo Bianco cliff, which resembles the not so distant and more famous Scala dei Turchi.

All this in the saddle of your trusty companion, whom you will ride for two hours.

What we will do

I will be waiting for you at the selected time at the meeting point in Montallegro (AG), just 200 metres from the sea. Welcoming you to the stables will be me, your environmental equestrian guide!

Upon your arrival, I will introduce you to your assigned horse , which you can finish saddling in preparation for the adventure you will share. I will then help you get on the saddle with English riding and teach you the basics of riding, so that you can enjoy this experience without any worries.

Now it is time for our horseback ride: we will venture into the natural setting around the riding school, in the direction of Eraclea Minoa. We will ride a short stretch through the countryside, among olive groves and almond orchards, before entering the pine forest and approaching the beach. We will then reach the entrance to the Foce del Fiume Platani Oriented Nature Reserve, where the Capo Bianco cliffs are located: the latter is very similar to the more famous Scala dei Turchi, which can be seen in the distance.

After riding about 6/7 km, we will return to the meeting point, where an aperitif (included) based on typical local products accompanied by a glass of wine will be waiting for you. The horseback ride will last 2 hours; the experience will last about 3 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for children from 5 years of age; children under 14 years of age must be accompanied on the walk by an adult, either on horseback or on foot.

A maximum weight of 110 kg is required to participate in this activity.

Other information

The experience is available from January to December.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

Any accompanying persons may follow the walk free of charge; any other accompanying persons may remain at the riding stables. Leashed dogs are allowed at the riding stables.
