Full description
Set off on a magnificent horseback excursion in the Massarosa hills, a private 2.5-hour ride for you and a small group of participants.
Riding a horse that was once used in racing and now has the opportunity of a second life, you will cross the hilly paths of the province of Lucca, through centuries-old olive groves that make Massarosa famous for its olive oil production.
In short, it will be a walk that will fill your eyes and your heart with beauty!
What we will do
The appointment is in Massarosa, in the province of Lucca, at the time chosen for the activity.
After the ritual introductions, the guide will provide you with the necessary equipment and will hold a 10-minute briefing inside the arena to explain how to stay in the saddle, stop the horse, and have it pulled over.
Once this first phase is over, the actual excursion will begin, which will be an exclusive ride for you and a small group of participants. The animals that will accompany you are really sweet, almost all of them former 'retired' racehorses, now enjoying a quiet second life.
The route will take you over the hills behind Massarosa, along very scenic paths, for about 15 km. You will pass through cool, shady wooded areas and walk among centuries-old olive groves, in the company of your guide who will tell you many interesting facts about this area traditionally linked to oil production.
There will also be ascents and descents to contend with and some stretches where the more experienced can try out higher paces.
At the end of the excursion, you will return to thefarm, where you can decide to have a tasting of typical local products such as cold meats, cheese, wine and oil (to be chosen at the time of booking).
The activity will last a total of 2.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The excursion is suitable for those who already have some riding experience, e.g. have taken a few lessons or have already done other rides.
The minimum age for participation is 14; minors need not be accompanied by a parent.

The excursion is available daily, all year round and is aimed at private groups of up to 10 people.
American saddles are used.
The tasting of typical products is optional and costs €15: when booking, choose the "walk + tasting" option. Please inform the guide of any food allergies and intolerances at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.
It is not possible to carry bags or backpacks during the walk.
