2-hour horse trekking in the Torre Salsa Reserve in the province of Agrigento with aperitif

Olive groves, almond groves and Mediterranean scrub. Try to imagine the colour and scent of this horseback ride in the province of Agrigento!

In the company of a equestrian guide, you will ride for 2 hours in the Torre Salsa Oriented Nature Reserve. You will cross countryside, pine forests, and beaches until you reach the Dama Bianca cliff, reminiscent of the nearby Scala dei Turchi.

The best way to explore this corner of Sicily, in contact with nature.

What we will do

I will be waiting for you at the selected time at the meeting point in Montallegro (AG), just 200 metres from the sea. To welcome you at the stables will be me, your environmental equestrian guide!

Upon your arrival, I will introduce you to the horse assigned to you and you will help me with its preparation, completing the saddling. After this initial approach, I will help you get on the saddle with an English mount and provide you with the basics of horse riding so that you can enjoy the experience without any worries.

Then our horseback ride will begin: we will venture into the Torre Salsa Oriented Nature Reserve, in the direction of Siculiana Marina. Along the way, we will ride through a pine forest characterised by Mediterranean maquis, until we approach the beach. We will then ride through the countryside, among olive and almond groves, until we reach the Dama Bianca cliff: the latter is very similar to the more famous Scala dei Turchi, which can be seen in the distance.

After riding about 6/7 km, we will return to the meeting point, where an aperitif (included) based on typical local products accompanied by a glass of wine will be waiting for you. The horseback ride will last 2 hours; the experience will last about 3 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for children from 5 years of age; children under 14 years of age must be accompanied on the walk by an adult, either on horseback or on foot.

A maximum weight of 110 kg is required to participate in this activity.

Other information

The experience is available from January to December.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

Any accompanying persons may follow the walk free of charge; any other accompanying persons may remain at the riding stables. Leashed dogs are allowed at the riding stables.
