Full description
At school, we all studied Petrarch's famous locus amoenus . And we think we have found it.
It is located in the province of Terni, in Poggiovalle to be precise. This is where our horseback ride in the open countryside takes place: in the company of an equestrian guide, you will ride through olive groves and pastures inhabited by fallow deer, cows and wild boar.
A40-minute adventure in thesaddle, in the beautiful natural setting of Umbria.
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Poggiovalle, in the municipality of Fabro (TR). Welcoming us to the riding school will be our equestrian guide, who will accompany us on this adventure in the saddle!
After an initial presentation and verification of our level of experience on horseback, we will proceed with the handover of our equipment and head into the covered field for the saddle. Here we will become familiar with our assigned riding companion, practising the basics of American-style riding provided by our guide.
We will then be ready to venture out for a ride: we will ride in the open countryside, through olive groves and pastures, and past a forest. Along the way we may happen to meet the friendly animals that inhabit the reserve, including fallow deer, wild boar, Maremma and Chianina cows. It will also be possible to greet the medieval village of Salci in the distance!
After riding about 5 km on a level dirt road, we will finally return to the meeting point. The horseback ride will last 40 minutes; the total experience will last 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable from the age of 10; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult on the ride. Children under the age of 14 will be hand-guided by the riding guide; from the age of 14, it is possible to ride independently.
The excursion is of an easy level and suitable for a first horse ride.

The experience is available from January to December and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 2 participants.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any accompanying persons may stay at the riding stables. Leashed dogs are permitted at the riding stables.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
