The Cedar Riviera is just as you imagine it. A constellation of cedar trees, colouring the Calabrian countryside.
By taking part in our horseback ride, you will ride in this very natural setting: in the company of an equestrian guide, you will venture around Santa Maria del Cedro for about 50 minutes.
An experience to discover the area and a passion for horse riding!
What we will do
I will be waiting for you 15 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Santa Maria del Cedro (CS). Welcoming you at the stables will be me, your equestrian guide!
After introducing you to my beloved horses, I will assign you your adventure companion. I will help you into the saddle and teach you the basics of horse riding so that you can enjoy this experience without any worries.
So here we are ready for our horseback ride: we will venture into the Calabrian countryside, riding through olive groves and cedar trees; it is no coincidence that we are in the heart of the Riviera dei Cedri! We will ride along and ford the Abatemarco river and cross the valley of the same name; the horizon will range from the sea in the west to Cozzo del Pellegrino in the east, which at 1,987 metres is the highest massif in Calabria.
After riding about 5/6 km on a path and dirt track, we will return to the meeting point. The horse ride will last 50 minutes; the total experience will last 1 hour.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 14 and up; children under the age of 18 must be accompanied to the riding school by an adult.
A maximum weight of 120 kg is required to participate in this activity.
Other information
The experience is available from January to December.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport. Please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation e-mail to request the additional shuttle service.
Any accompanying persons can stay at the riding stables, which have a bar service. Leashed dogs are allowed at the riding school.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
