Explore theCalabrian hinterland from an unusual point of view: riding a horse!
Starting from Terranova Sappo Minulio, a former medieval village in the province of Reggio Calabria, you can embark on an activity that combines nature and horse riding in a fascinating and still little-known area.
At your side will be not one, but two horse-riding guides, ready to lead you on this 1-hour ride among centuries-old olive trees!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Terranova Sappo Minulio (RC). We will be welcomed at the stables by one of the equestrian guides who will accompany us on this horseback ride!
Once all participants have gathered, the guide will assign each one a horse to clean and saddle. In the meantime, we will listen to a briefing during which we will be explained what we will see during the ride and how to ride safely, after which we will mount the saddle. Having become familiar with our steed, we will be ready to begin our ride!
After a few metres of asphalt, we will enter a forest of centuries-old olive trees, moving along paths marked only on old maps. About halfway along we will skirt a valley that will lead us to a vantage point with a view of the mountains, listening to the sound of a stream in the background. During the hike we will be followed by two guides on horseback who will open and close the group, and tell us the history of this area.
Following a circular route, we will finally return to the meeting point. The horseback ride will last 1 hour; the total experience will last 1.5 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 16 and over; children under 18 may participate with a signed authorisation from an adult.
A maximum weight of 110 kg is required to participate in the activity.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first horse ride.

The experience takes place all year round.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
Any accompanying persons can wait in the clubhouse of the riding stables, which is equipped with a coffee machine.
Leashed dogs are permitted at the riding stables.
