Horseback riding at Lake Poppiano with tasting

Hills, olive groves, boundless landscapes, vineyards: this is no bucolic dream, but your one-and-a-half-hour horseback ride through the Tuscan countryside.

In the company of Ivan, an expert guide with a passion for horses, you can immerse yourself in a 7-8 km itinerary that will lead you to discover Lake Poppiano.

After the walk, a tasting of local products awaits you to be enjoyed in the estate's vineyard, in an atmosphere that will immediately make you feel at home.

What we will do

We will meet at the ranch in Montespertoli (FI), 10 minutes before the time indicated in the booking.

Here we will be welcomed by Ivan, ready to pass on his passion for horses and the countryside, handed down through the family, and to take us on a discovery of this beautiful part of Tuscany.

Climbing into the saddle and accompanied by our guide on horseback, we will begin our ride at the pass through vineyards and olive groves, riding through the Tuscan hills to Lake Poppiano, near the castle of the same name.

After about an hour and a half of riding and more than 7 km covered, on the way back we will stop among the vineyards 5 minutes from the ranch, to prolong our experience in contact with nature. We will tie the horses to the trees and sit down for a tasting of local products.

The menu will include 4 local wines (3 red and 1 white), bruschetta with olive oil produced on the ranch, bruschetta with fresh tomatoes, pappa al pomodoro and a platter of Tuscan cheeses and cold cuts.

It will be a convivial moment to feel at home in a familiar setting and enjoy, why not, an unforgettable sunset, with the last rays of the sun dipping through the vines creating spectacular plays of golden light.

The activity will last approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including 1 hour and 30 minutes of walking and 1 hour of tasting.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone, including beginners, from the age of 14.

Minors may take part in the walk unaccompanied by a parent.

Participants must enjoy good mobility and have a maximum weight of 95 kg.

Other information

The ride is available every day from April to October, with a minimum number of 2 people.

The mount used is the American mount .

For wine-tasting it is necessary to let us know in advance if you are vegetarian and/or vegan or if you do not drink wine. For food allergies or intolerances , alternatives are not guaranteed (you will still be able to taste the wines, e.g. accompanied by fruit). Please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.

In the event of adverse weather conditions or impracticable terrain, the tasting will be moved from the vineyard to the ranch, with very panoramic views in both cases.

For those who cannot reach the ranch by their own means, it is possible to agree with the organisers on a pickup service for a fee from Florence or Empoli. The pick-up must be requested at least 2 days before the activity and must be paid on site in cash. For more information, contact the guide after booking.

To activate thedaily insurance, after completing the booking, you will have to communicate to the guide: name, surname, date and place of birth, residence, tax code (for Italians), passport number (if foreigners).

To participate in the activity you must wear trainers or boots with smooth soles (no flip-flops, sandals or high-heeled shoes). In the event of unsuitable clothing, the activity will not be possible and you will not be entitled to a refund.
