Immerse yourself in lush Tuscan nature at Gambassi Terme, near San Gimignano!
Experience a 1 ½-hour horseback ride along the Via Francigena, through woods, fields, rivers and verdant vineyards, in the company of expert equestrian guides.
And for those who don't want to give up the pleasures of the palate, it will also be possible to enjoy a delicious tasting of typical products.
What we will do
The appointment will take place at the stables in Gambassi Terme (FI), 5 minutes before the time selected when booking.
We will be welcomed by our guides, 1st level equestrian instructors, who will accompany us on our horseback ride through the Tuscan countryside. We will find our steeds waiting for us, already saddled, in the stables' paddock.
After an initial briefing of about 20 minutes, during which the guides will explain how to familiarise ourselves with the horse and how to lead it safely during our outing, we will be ready to go! The guides will be available to follow us on foot or on horseback, depending on our needs.
Our walk, which is approximately 4 km long and has no differences in altitude, will take us through beautiful natural landscapes: forests, small rivers to wade through, verdant vineyards , fields and expanses of sunflowers and cyclamens will be just some of the marvels we will be able to admire during our outing.
In the company of our steed, we will enjoy plenty of nature and good air, strolling along the Via Francigena. In the distance, a few pine forests and centuries-old oaks and, if we are lucky, roe deer and pheasants to be spotted among the branches! On the way back we pass the village of Gambassi Terme, admiring the sumptuous villas that dot the landscape.
If we have chosen theoption of a horseback ride only, at this point we will have completed our adventure, which lasted a total of about 1 ½ hours. If we select theoption with tasting, however, it will be time to get our legs under the table!
We will gather on a veranda overlooking the stables and the fields, or stay outdoors if the weather permits. Waiting for us will be a mix of Tuscan delicacies: finocchiona, pecorino, prosciutto crudo and typical schiacciate will duly crown our equestrian experience. Of course, with a toast of Chianti!
In this case, the experience will last a total of two and a half hours.

The activity is suitable for everyone from 14 years of age.
Children under the age of 18 may participate accompanied.
The maximum permitted weight for horse riding is 80 kg.
The activity is not suitable for persons with reduced mobility in their lower limbs.

The activity is available from April to October.
