Hot-air balloon flight near Udine with toast

Whilst the rest of the world is still having breakfast, you’ll be doing something you’ll remember for the rest of your life.

In Povoletto, in the province of Udine, you’ll enjoy a hot-air balloon flight lasting around an hour with an experienced pilot. You’ll let the wind carry you as you admire the River Torre, the Friulian countryside and the city of Udine from above; on clear days, your gaze will reach as far as the Carnia mountains and the sea.

The final toast will mark the end of the flight, but probably not the end of the excitement. Those feelings will stay with you forever, every time you look up at the sky!

What we will do

The meeting point is in Povoletto (UD), at the time selected when booking and confirmed by email one or two days before the activity. The time varies throughout the year depending on sunrise, when conditions are ideal for flying.

On arrival, we’ll watch the hot-air balloon being inflated: seeing the enormous balloon slowly take shape will already be one of the most exciting moments of the experience. Meanwhile, the pilot will go through the safety rules with us and explain how to board and how to behave during the flight.

When everything is ready, we’ll take off for a flight lasting about 1 hour. From up there , we’ll admire the Friulian countryside, the River Torre and the city of Udine; on the clearest days, the view will stretch as far as the Carnia mountains and the sea towards Trieste. The wind will determine the route, making every hot-air balloon flight unique and unrepeatable.

After a gentle landing, we’ll watch as the balloon is retrieved and packed away, before boarding the organiser’s vehicle to return to the take-off point.

We’ll round off the morning with a toast with a glass of wine or prosecco, accompanied by a selection of sweet and savoury nibbles, and receive our certificate for our first hot-air balloon flight: the perfect memento of an experience we’ll remember for a long time to come.

Including preparation, the flight, travel, the final toast and the presentation of the certificate, the activity lasts approximately 3 hours in total.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is suitable for everyone aged 10 and over, with a minimum height of 150 cm. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

There is no maximum weight limit. However, once you have booked, you will need to provide the organiser (you will receive their contact details by email) with your name, your weight and the weights of any other participants, for organisational purposes and to prepare your first flight certificate.

Pregnant women, people with cardiovascular or pulmonary conditions, those suffering from osteoporosis, mental health conditions, or those with prosthetic limbs or walking difficulties are not permitted to fly. Furthermore, it is forbidden to fly whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol, and anyone who has engaged in diving activities within 24 hours prior to the flight is also prohibited from flying.

The activity takes place all year round on the dates shown in the calendar and is confirmed once a minimum of 5 participants have been reached ( the hot-air balloon is full) .

Important: the flight times shown on the calendar are approximate and may vary depending on weather conditions. A few days before the activity, you will receive an email from the organisers confirming the time and address. Always check your email before setting off!

The scenery you see during the flight may vary, as it depends on the direction of the wind.

You are allowed to bring mobile phones and cameras on board to take photos and videos. However, you cannot bring rucksacks or bulky bags.

Pets are not allowed on board the hot-air balloon.

The meeting point is accessible by public transport; free parking is available on site.
