Full description
Discover the beauty of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park and enjoy a leisurely kayak excursion on the Tirino, one of the cleanest and most unspoilt rivers in Italy.
Paddle in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by lush nature that provides a natural habitat for many animal and plant species, and have fun doing sport while respecting the environment.
One of our qualified canoe/kayak guides will take you to discover a fantastic place, where you can breathe in the pure air of the Tirino Valley and theAbruzzo Apennines.
What we will do
We will meet at Capodacqua in Capestrano, in the province of L'Aquila, and together with our guide we will move to San Martino, where the embarkation point on the River Tirino is located.
We will sail aboard single sit-on-top kayaks, which are easily manoeuvrable even by those with little experience. Before setting off, however, we will have a briefing on paddling techniques and safety rules.
We will paddle a 4 km route, which can be shortened or lengthened depending on the level of the participants. The tour will be conducted in the name of relaxation and discovering nature, with the possibility of swimming - if it is not too cold - and sampling a local edible plant: the aquatic celery.
The activity will last about 1 hour and 45 minutes in total and will end with a return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is at an easy level and is intended for people aged 14 to 65 in good health, under 100 kg and with a minimum of paddle experience.

Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point approximately 30 minutes before the departure time.
This activity can be carried out from June to September and will be confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
