Discover the beauty of the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park and enjoy a leisurely kayak excursion on the Tirino, one of the cleanest and most unspoilt rivers in Italy.
Paddle in the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by lush nature that provides a natural habitat for many animal and plant species, and have fun doing sport while respecting the environment.
One of our qualified canoe/kayak guides will take you to discover a fantastic place, where you can breathe in the pure air of the Tirino Valley and theAbruzzo Apennines.
What we will do
We’ll meet up in Capodacqua, Capestrano, in the province of L’Aquila, and, together with our guide, we’ll head to San Martino, where the launch point on the River Tirino is located.
We’ll be paddling in single sit-on-top kayaks, which are easy to handle even for those with little experience. Before setting off, however, we’ll have a briefing on paddling techniques and safety rules.
We’ll cover a 4 km route, which can be shortened or extended depending on the participants’ ability. The tour will be a relaxing experience focused on exploring nature.
The activity will last approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes in total and will conclude with our return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This activity is of medium difficulty and is aimed at people aged between 14 and 55 who are in good health and physically fit, weigh no more than 100 kg, and have some experience with a paddle and good coordination. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.

Attention! Please arrive at the meeting point approximately 30 minutes before the departure time.
This activity can be carried out from June to September and will be confirmed when there are at least 2 participants.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
