Full description
You won't become Reinhold Messner in a day. But the first step is always the one that counts!
This experience among the vajis of the Little Dolomites is a first approach to mountaineering, to learn how to climb snowy gullies with crampons and ice axe, surrounded by the beauty of the mountain environment.
An 8-hour outing in the company of an UIAGM Alpine Guide, who will reveal the tricks of the trade (starting with the basics) !
What we will do
The appointment is 15 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Recoaro Terme (VI) . Here we will meet the UIAGM Alpine Guide, who after the usual introductions will give an initial technical and safety briefing.
From the meeting point we will make a short drive (2-3 km) to reach the route chosen according to snow conditions and the level of the group. Once we are ready, we will begin the ascent of the vajo: a gully typical of the Little Dolomites that fills with snow and ice in winter, perfect for learning to use crampons and ice axe. The guide will accompany us step by step, explaining technique, progression and safety management.
We will face a continuous and enthralling ascent: an intense experience, requiring concentration but rewarding with spectacular views of the valley as we climb higher.
Once we reach the top of the vajo, we will take a break at the summit to enjoy the view and recharge our batteries with a packed lunch before descending. The return will be along the route most suited to the conditions at the time.
The total duration of the experience is approximately 8 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for participants aged 16 and over; minors must be accompanied by a parent.
Good general physical condition and absence of heart disease are required. The activity is not suitable for those suffering from vertigo, as there are exposed sections.
No experience is required to participate, as the route can be adapted to the level of the group.
