Full description
Immerse yourself in the landscapes of the Aosta Valley and enjoy a day in the mountains of Pila, trekking together with an environmental guide who will take you on a walk through the mountain pastures.
You will reach the Plan de l'Eyve alpine pasture, where you will be able to watch the process of making fontina cheese, without missing a taste of the typical Valle d'Aosta cheese.
Along the way, you can admire the beauty of nature and meet many grazing cattle and wild animals in their natural habitat.
What we will do
We will meet in Gressan (AO), in the cable car forecourt. Having got to know the environmental guide and the rest of the group, we will set off uphill along a path that winds its way through the forest and leads to the Plan de l'Eyve mountain pasture, at an altitude of 2,450 m .
Along the way, the guide will have the pleasure of telling us the history of the mountain pastures and the small high-altitude villages, as well as giving us information about the flora and fauna in the area. We will come into close contact with nature, breathing clean air and regenerating ourselves thanks to the silence of the mountains.
When we arrive at our destination, we will be welcomed by the manager of the mountain pasture, who will show us the estate and the processes of making Fontina cheese. We will be able to get close to the grazing animals, discover mountain customs and traditions and, of course, taste the Fontina DOC cheese. Those who wish will also be able to buy it on site.
We will stay for a long time at the mountain pasture, explore the surroundings and relax in the green meadows before starting the descent that will take us back to the initial meeting point. In total, the activity will last about 6 hours.

This activity is at an easy level and is open to everyone, including children of all ages as long as they are used to walking.

This activity takes place every Wednesday from June to September and is confirmed when there are at least 8 participants, weather permitting.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
