Full description
Put on your snowshoes and turn on your torch: tonight the mountain is all yours!
On the Piani dell'Avaro, in the heart of the Alta Val Brembana, a different evening awaits you: a night snowshoe hi ke under a star-studded sky.
In the company of an Alpine Guide, you will walk in a snowy environment illuminated only by your torch and the moon. You and the mountain will be one!
What we will do
The appointment is 5 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Cusio (BG), at Piani dell'Avaro.
Here we will meet our Alpine Guide and begin with a technical briefing: we will learn how to wear and use the equipment, recognise the signs of the snowy environment and move around safely.
Then we'll be ready to set off: snowshoes on our feet and a head torch lit, we'll walk in the silence of the night along a ring-route of around 2-3 km, with 250 metres of altitude difference, gently ascending the southern slopes of Monte Avaro from 1, 700 metres at the start, to reach an altitude of 2, 000 metres.
During the snowshoe hike, we will make panoramic stops to admire the starry sky and listen to the sounds of the sleeping mountain, with the Ponteranica mountain group around us. Back at the starting point, those who wish will be able to stop for dinner at the refuge (not included and to be paid for on site) .
The total duration is 2 ½ hours, with about 1 ½ hours of actual walking.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 10 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The route is easy and with no exposed sections, also ideal for those taking part in their first snowshoe hike.
