"Here we poor people also have our share of wealth, and it is the smell of lemons." This is how, in 1921, Montale described the beauty of Monterosso.
If you too would like to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of this magical stretch of Ligurian coastline, you cannot miss this one-day gozzo excursion to the Golfo dei Poeti and the Cinque Terre.
And while you are enchanted by the view, treat yourself to a typical Ligurian aperitif.
What we will do
The rendezvous is in La Spezia, 10 minutes before the time chosen at the time of booking.
Awaiting us will be the skipper, ready to accompany us during the tour on board our gozzo.
We will start navigation from La Spezia in the direction of Lerici and Tellaro. Here we will make a first bathing stop lasting about 20 minutes, near Maralunga. We will then head towards the island of Palmaria, where we will stop for another bathing stop of about 20 minutes at Cala dell'Ammiraglio. In this area, we will also have the opportunity to skirt the islands of Tino and Tinetto.
At this point we will head towards the beautiful Portovenere, to admire the Church of San Pietro and Byron's Grotto, two enchanting places that have been the protagonists of fascinating poems and stories. Here we will take advantage of a bathing stop lasting about 20 minutes.
Arriving at le Rosse, a short stretch of coastline between Portovenere and Riomaggiore, we will make another 20-minute bathing stop. At this point we will be at the gates of the Cinque Terre. We will coast the famous Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia and Vernazza, with a 20-minute swim stop at the Guvano beach, between Vernazza and Corniglia. Our last stop will be Monterosso al Mare, from where we will return to our starting point.
During the tour, in addition to the beauty of the places we will explore, the crew will prepare a hearty aperitif for us with a first course cooked on board, accompanied by focaccia and other Ligurian products.
The total duration of the tour will be 8 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is open to all, with no age limit. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
The boat is not wheelchair accessible.
Other information
The excursion is bookable from mid-April to the end of October, every day, and is confirmed with a minimum of four participants.
The boat used for the tour is a 9 m long and 3.5 m wide gozzo, equipped with a toilet, awning, sundeck and stereo.

Food and drinks can be brought on board.
Dogs are allowed on board.
The meeting point can be reached by public transport. On request it is possible to reserve a parking space on site for a fee: please contact the organisers after confirmation of your booking.
