Full description
Discover a wonderful area with a half-day trekking tour through forests and coastal stretches within the Porto Conte Park. An environmentalist guide will accompany you along a 5 km route through the juniper and broom bushes of the Mediterranean maquis and the marine areas with cliffs overhanging the sea.
The park is also populated by several protected species. You will be able to spot donkeys, griffon vultures and ospreys. If you are a photography enthusiast, get out your camera because you will have the chance to capture one of the most beautiful corners of Sardinia.
Weather permitting, you can also visit the Grotte di Nettuno (Neptune 's Caves) or the Grotta dei Vasi Rotti (Cave of Broken Vases), from which you can enjoy an extraordinary panorama with the city of Alghero in the background. So, what are you waiting for to book?
What we will do
We will meet at 10.00 a.m. at Belvedere Foradada in Alghero (SS), a beautiful viewpoint from which we will be able to admire the white limestone cliffs ofIsola Foradada, one of the most photographed natural wonders of the Coral Riviera. An environmental guide will be waiting for us here, who will accompany us for the duration of the excursion.
Once we are ready, we will set off along a 5 km route that is not difficult and which will allow us to admire the surrounding landscape and take photos. The route alternates between stretches of woodland and views of the sea, through an area characterised by rich Mediterranean scrub.
We will walk among junipers, brooms, euphorbias and mastic trees, accompanied by a breathtaking landscape. If we are particularly lucky, we will also have the chance to spot the animals that populate Parco Conte. In the Le Prigionette forest area, also known as Noah's Ark, we may even spot fallow deer, Giara horses and white donkeys.
Towards the middle of the excursion, we will stop for a packed lunch (not included and to be brought from home). Alternatively, if the group agrees and the itinerary permits, we can stop at a bar or restaurant.
We can also visit the famous Neptune Caves, which can be reached via 660 stairs. The visit to the caves depends, however, on weather conditions because the stairs may be closed for safety reasons. Alternatively, it will be possible to pass by the Grotta dei Vasi Rotti (Cave of the Broken Vases), from which there is an exceptional view that goes from theIsola Foradada to the cliffs of Cala d'Inferno to the Bay of Porto Conte and Punta Giglio, with the city of Alghero in the background.
The activity lasts about 5 hours and ends with the return to the starting point.
