Rafting Classic on the Sesia River

Put yourself to the test and learn to tame the rapids with a rafting trip down the beautiful Sesia! Rafting is a fun activity suitable for everyone, from the wildest to the most timid!

We propose a 10 km descent in a very suggestive and exciting stretch suitable for everyone, beginners and experts alike. Before the actual descent, the guide will give a theoretical-practical lesson first in dry and then in calm water, so that all participants will know how to tackle the descent safely.

Our Centre provides all the necessary equipment and technical clothing. Monrosa is recognised by the Italian Rafting Federation (F.I.Raft) and only qualified guides operate in the Centre. We are equipped with state-of-the-art rafts and equipment that can easily accommodate very large groups.

What we will do

Once we reach the meeting point, we will provide you with all the equipment and proceed to get dressed, wearing a wetsuit, waterproof jacket, helmet and life jacket.

At this point there will be a briefing with the guide who will explain the techniques we will adopt on board the Raft and the main safety measures.

That said, off we go! We will launch ourselves down the stretch of the Sesia from Balmuccia to Varallo, for two hours of pure adrenaline. There are plenty of rapids, exciting but not dangerous; fun is guaranteed! For the duration of the activity you will be accompanied by experienced F.I.Raft Level V guides.

When we reach the final point of the descent, we will take the minibus back to the centre for a hot shower. In all, the activity, including transport, dressing and theory lesson, will take 3 hours.

In case the water level is low, we will move to the"Le Gole Del Sesia" section, which is just as fun and suitable for everyone!

Who it is aimed at

Participation does not require any special skills, only good physical condition, being able to swim and being 12 years of age or older.

Other information

Like all river activities, rafting is subject to the river's hydrometric conditions and therefore the descent will only be confirmed if the water flow is adequate for the activity to take place safely.

The meeting point is in a very convenient location for organising all the activities on the river, so the time needed for travel will be very minimal. At the base we have a large green area equipped with picnic tables, a barbecue, bar, beach volleyball court and five-a-side football pitch. We also have a space for pitching tents, with toilets and hot showers.

The minimum number of participants per dinghy is 4 people up to a maximum of 7 plus the guide. You can also book individually and you will be placed with other groups. The activity may be postponed if the minimum number (4) is not reached in order to ensure that it runs smoothly.

It will be possible to request the photo and video service (shared via memory stick) at a cost of €35 per raft, which can be paid for directly on site. Alternatively, it is possible to rent a GoPro for the same price to shoot video footage of the experience.

In accordance with the regulations for the containment of Covid-19 contagion, a maximum of 4 persons plus guide may be transported on each dinghy, and a maximum of 5 persons plus driver on the minibus.
