Full description

If you're a rafting enthusiast, you can't miss the full route on the Dora Baltea, one of the best rafting rivers in Europe!

Travel the stretch of the river from Morgex to Sarre on board a raft: a 14-km course of increasing difficulty, among impetuous rapids and breathtaking landscapes at the foot of Mont Blanc.

Together with an expert guide, you will experience a pure adrenaline rush. Get ready to experience the thrills of rafting to the nth degree!

What we will do

We will meet at the rafting centre in Morgex (AO). Here we will be given thenecessary equipment and move by shuttle bus to the embarkation point where the guide will give a briefing on safety rules.

We will face an initial leisurely stretch of 3.5 km to get to know each other and coordinate the group, and then we will be ready to enter the Gorges d'Arvier in an evocative setting of waterfalls and canyons, vineyards and castles.

In its most torrential and steepest section, the Dora Baltea forms grade III and IV rapids, such as those of Leverogne. We will navigate it all dynamically, without too many breaks, but always in safety and with the assistance of the guides, both the one who will captain us in the dinghy and the one who will follow the group in the kayak.

Thanks to the melting of the Mont Blanc glaciers, with the heat pressing down, in the best months, which are usually June and July, the Dora Baltea has an average flow of 60 cubic metres of water per second, making it one of the most impetuous rivers in Europe. There will be fun... and refreshment!

After a series of bends and rapids, we will disembark at the gates of Aosta, in Sarre, and return to base by shuttle for a hot shower. The entire route is about 14 km long and the total duration of the activity is about 4 hours.

Who it is aimed at

This activity is at an intermediate level and is open to everyone from 14 years of age. No previous experience is required, but you must be in good physical condition and have good aquatic skills (the increasing difficulty of the course allows you to gain confidence gradually). You can participate with a weight under 125 kg.

Other information

This route runs from May to September, when the water flow is greatest.

Rain is never a problem, in fact it increases the water level and makes the river even more fun! Should, however, the river conditions be dangerous, we will notify you in good time. In this case it will be possible to arrange another date or receive a refund.

A photo and video service can be requested and paid for on site before the excursion. The costs are 25€ for photos on a USB stick, 20€ for full shots sent by email and 30€ for customised video editing (prices are per crew).

All nautical equipment is disinfected with professional products after each use to ensure maximum hygiene.

After the rafting descent, showers, changing rooms and the rafting centre'sbarbecue and picnic area are available free of charge.

If you have a dog with you, you can leave it in the care of the rafting centre (free of charge).
