Rafting is a group river sport that involves traveling down the course of a river or mountain stream in special boats, the rafts. Each raft carries a crew of 6 to 8 people, captained by an experienced guide who coordinates movements and gives commands to overcome rapids and other natural obstacles.
Rafting is a sport for everyone. You don’t need to have any specific training; you just need to choose the path that best suits your level. Before entering the water, a lecture is given on basic techniques and safety rules, and you are immediately ready to go.
The best time for rafting is generally from April to October. You need to wear a bathing suit, thermal T-shirt and sneakers you’re fine with getting wet. All other equipment is provided by the rafting center.
The closest location to Aosta for rafting is Aymavilles. This town is the starting point of trips for all levels: from family rafting to classic rafting to advanced. Just a few kilometers away, the town of Morgex is the reference point for those who want to go rafting in the Aosta Valley.
Routes for all needs are available here as well. They differ in length and difficulty, based on the presence of rapids of various grades. Usually, basic routes range from 3 to 5 km, and more advanced routes are 14 to 17 km long.
Just 6 km from Courmayeur, the resort of Pré Saint Didier is ideal for those who want to combine the adrenaline rush of rafting trip with the relaxation of a Spa. In fact, here you can purchase complete packages and live an experience full of excitement!
Prices for rafting on the Dora Baltea River depend mainly on the length of the route. It starts at 25 euros per person for family rafting and goes up to 65/70 euros for a full trip. Classic rafting trips, on the other hand, cost about 45 to 50 euros. The fee always includes guide, equipment and transfers. Sometimes video and photos are included, otherwise they can be added for an extra cost.
Gifting a thrilling adventure in nature can be an original idea for a birthday, graduation or anniversaries. As a couple, with family or with friends, rafting is a fun activity for any occasion. There is nothing better than celebrating an important event among the rapids of a mountain river, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Mont Blanc.

Excellent organisation that provides a safe experience even for inexperienced tourists. The river offers a fun, at times exciting, but not frightening course. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The quality of the photos and videos taken by Santiago are excellent and worth taking, not least because the cost is absolutely reasonable.

A fun and not too demanding experience. On the route that my friends and I tackled, we were always at ease, thanks to both the guide Elodie and the route, which was quite long with moments of relaxation spent admiring the scenery, interspersed with slightly more challenging points where it was necessary to follow the guide's directions. In short, the Basic route is an experience suitable for anyone who wants to try something new, surrounded by nature and in total safety.

It was my first time on a rafting boat, thanks to the guide we quickly learnt all the rules to follow on the river. It was a really good experience only pity for the weather which was not exactly favourable

Wonderful experience, very professional and friendly staff. The place is very well organised and cosy. As soon as we finished the rafting descent, we relaxed in the centre area with tables and sofas in the shade to refresh ourselves. Many thanks to the staff!
