Everything you need to know about rafting

Rafting is a group river sport that involves traveling down the course of a river or mountain stream in special boats, the rafts. Each raft carries a crew of 6 to 8 people, captained by an experienced guide who coordinates movements and gives commands to overcome rapids and other natural obstacles.

Rafting is a sport for everyone. You don’t need to have any specific training; you just need to choose the path that best suits your level. Before entering the water, a lecture is given on basic techniques and safety rules, and you are immediately ready to go.

The best time for rafting is generally from April to October. You need to wear a bathing suit, thermal T-shirt and sneakers you’re fine with getting wet. All other equipment is provided by the rafting center.

Great activity

While staying in Valle d’Aosta we decided to go try rafting. We were 4 adults with 2 kids aged 9 and 5. Upon arriving we were given a brief orientation on a worse case scenario. We went on the raft and it was so fun! The kids were too cold though since they are little and were not paddling. Next time round i’d consider getting my son diving gloves (if they exist lol). Other than that, the instructor was extremely nice and knowledgeable. We’ll definitely do it again :) Oh and don’t forget to buy the photos!!

Relaxation and fun

A fun and not too demanding experience. On the route that my friends and I tackled, we were always at ease, thanks to both the guide Elodie and the route, which was quite long with moments of relaxation spent admiring the scenery, interspersed with slightly more challenging points where it was necessary to follow the guide's directions. In short, the Basic route is an experience suitable for anyone who wants to try something new, surrounded by nature and in total safety.

Wonderful experience!

Perfect organisation and a fantastic team who gave us a unique experience. No fears whatsoever on a route that was run to perfection by our knowledgeable and very friendly guide! Wonderful for us as parents and unforgettable for our 10-year-old son! I recommend arriving already with your swimming costume on and a backpack with slippers and bathrobe for the final shower. Nothing more!

Stag do

Wonderful experience, very professional and friendly staff. The place is very well organised and cosy. As soon as we finished the rafting descent, we relaxed in the centre area with tables and sofas in the shade to refresh ourselves. Many thanks to the staff!
