Rafting in the Valnerina in the province of Perugia: 5 km on the Nera river

Swimming, diving, paddling and lots of laughs: we're talking rafting!

At Scheggino, in the green heart of Umbria, a 5-km descent through beautiful natural pools and unspoilt nature awaits you.

You will paddle down an easy and fun stretch of river, swim and discover many curiosities about the area!

What we will do

The meeting point is 20 minutes before the indicated time at the meeting point in Scheggino (PG).

We will be welcomed by the rafting centre staff, who will hand over theequipment (included): wetsuit, water jacket, life jacket, helmet and shoes. The changing rooms, equipped with showers and toilets, will allow us to change comfortably and leave our personal belongings in a secure storage room (facilities included).

Once we are ready, we will board one of the centre's vans to reach the activity venue, just a few minutes away. On the way, our guide will tell us some interesting facts about the valley, the history of the area and the river Nera.

When we arrive at our destination, we will unload our dinghies and paddles and participate in a briefing of about 10 minutes about the activity. At that point, we will be ready to set off on our adventure!

Climbing aboard the dinghy, we will begin the 5-km descent from the wonderful Abbey of Saints Felice and Mauro to Scheggino, surrounded by beautiful vegetation. And between paddling and a few laughs, we will discover together with the guide how to behave in this natural environment and how to swim in the current. We will stop at 1 or 2 points to take some photos (not included) and to dive into some beautiful natural pools.

At the end of the route, we will return to the base, change our clothes and relax in the picnic area or at the centre's refreshment point.

The activity will last a total of about 2 hours (including briefing, descent and transfers), of which about 1 hour and 20 minutes will be spent in the water.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for everyone from the age of 3. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

To participate in the activity, it is not necessary to know how to swim, but it is important to be familiar with the water. In addition, you must have a maximum weight of 130 kg and not be pregnant.

The activity is accessible to people with reduced mobility and disabilities of any kind: please contact the facility in advance via the contact details in your booking confirmation e-mail to let them know.

Other information

The experience takes place from April to October and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 2 participants. A guide will be present on each dinghy during the activity.

Attention! The activity duration and itinerary may vary slightly depending on river conditions. In addition, you will need to pay €10 per person on site for the entrance fee to the adventure park where the experience will take place.

The rafting centre has changing rooms with showers and toilets, and secure storage for personal belongings. In addition, during the activity it will be possible to store personal belongings from which you cannot be separated in the watertight bag carried by the guide.

Photos of the experience can be purchased on site for €10, payable in cash or by card. The material will be sent to you via Google Drive.

Any accompanying persons can wait at the centre, relaxing at the refreshment point. Leashed dogs are allowed.

There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.
