The fascination of the mountains, the fun of motors and the thrill of the snow: all this is snowmobiling!
If you don't want to miss out on an unforgettable excursion, between ski slopes and snow-covered woods, just come to Madesimo and follow an expert guide to discover the area's most evocative scenery.

What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Madesimo, in the province of Sondrio. After an initial welcome, we will participate in a short briefing, during which the instructors will explain how to drive the snowmobile. Once the explanations are over, we will all climb into the saddle of the snowmobiles and begin the adventure!
Starting at an altitude of 1, 550 m, we will first travel along a perfectly snow-covered track, marked and groomed daily by snowcats. Then the track will overlook a marvellous panorama, passing through an impressive forest of firs and larches, past old huts and reaching an altitude of 2, 110 m.
When we reach the summit, we will pause to admire the scenery that surrounds us: to the south we will be able to see Val Chiavenna with Madesimo in the foreground, to the west the Ferrè glacier dominating Lake Montespluga, to the north a rare green beola quarry and to the east the Bertacchi refuge.
After a souvenir photo and some chatting, we will get back on the snowmobiles to return to the starting point. The activity will last a total of 45 minutes.
Who it is aimed at
The excursion is suitable for everyone from 2 years of age.
To drive the snowmobile, you must have a B licence. No experience is required, but you must be able to handle the vehicle with confidence and concentration. The organisers reserve the right to ask the participant to take part in the activity as a passenger instead of as a driver.
The activity is not recommended for pregnant women.
Other information
The activity is bookable from December to March.
Please note. From 26 December 2025 to 6 January 2026 the starting point of the tour will be changed due to lack of snow. The alternative tour will last approximately 1 hour, starting at 1, 900 metres from the Montespluga area.
The price is not calculated per person but per snowmobile. The price is for one snowmobile and two people (example: 44 participants are spread over 22 double-occupancy snowmobiles) .
The snowmobile carries two adults. Children and young people from 7 to 18 years of age are to be considered passengers, i. e. they may only ride a snowmobile with one parent. Children up to the age of 6, on the other hand, can ride the snowmobile together with their parents, for a total of three participants per snowmobile.
Important: You must arrive at the meeting point 20 minutes before the time chosen for the activity! If you are late, you will be added to the next available excursion.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is moderate. You get a full refund if you cancel within 8 days from the activity start date. Within 7 and 5 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
