Have you ever experienced the feeling of putting one boot in Italy and the other in France? At Claviere, in Alta Val di Susa, borders disappear under the snow!
This 3-hour snowshoe hi ke will take you to an altitude of 1, 900 metres, in an area dominated by the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Chaberton.
Together with an Environmental Hiking Guide, you will cross larch forests and silent glades, enjoying the mountain in all its purity!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in Claviere (TO) . Awaiting us will be the Environmental Hiking Guide who will accompany us on this adventure!
After the ritual introductions, the guide will hand us snowshoes and poles (included) , then we will participate in a briefing of about 30 minutes to learn how to move in the snow and get to know the itinerary.
Our hike will start at an altitude of 1, 900 metres. We will enter a silent larch forest, letting ourselves be enchanted by the magical light filtering through the branches. The route will run along the border line between Italy and France to a beautiful viewpoint.
In front of us will be the Chaberton Massif, known as the 'Fort of the Clouds' because of the historic fortification that stands out on its flattened summit at over 3, 000 metres. The itinerary, which can be either a loop or a round trip depending on the snowpack conditions, is 4-5 km long with an altitude difference of 200 metres.
We will then return to the meeting point. The experience will last a total of 3 hours (including briefing and stops, with approximately 2½ hours of actual walking) .
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first snowshoeing trip.
Other information
The experience takes place from December to April and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 3 participants.
Duration and itinerary may vary according to snow and weather conditions and participants' abilities at the guide's discretion. In the absence of snow and subject to the participants' acceptance, the guide may propose a nature walk with crampons as an alternative.
Dogs may participate, provided that they are socialised and used to being in a group; the guide must be notified at the contacts indicated in the email confirming the booking.
There is free parking on site. The meeting point can be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
