Full description

Lake Devero is one of the jewels of theOssola valleys, even more magical in winter with its glistening mirror-like frozen surface.

Admire it on a 4-hour snowshoe hike that will take you fromAlpe Devero to the Codelago dam, passing through the village of Crampiolo.

An excursion to do and do again, because nature never gets tired... especially when you walk with snowshoes on your feet!

What we will do

The meeting point isAlpe Devero (VB), 15 minutes before the scheduled departure time.

We will be welcomed by the environmental excursion guide who will hand us snowshoes and poles (included) for our hike.

The 12 km circular route, with an altitude difference of 365 metres, will take us from the Devero plain to the village of Crampiolo, a small mountain paradise with its stone houses. Halfway along we can stop for a picnic lunch or to eat at the Crampiolo refuge (lunch not included).

From here we will climb to the Codelago dam, the oldest of its kind in Italy, and to the artificial lake of Devero, surrounded by rugged mountains. Completing our loop, we will then return to our starting point.

The snowshoe hike will last a total of 4 hours, including any stops.

Who it is aimed at

The activity is very simple and suitable for everyone, with no age limit. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Children under the age of 6 participate free of charge; please inform the guide of their presence at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.

Very young children(0-2 years old) may be carried by their parents in wraps or backpacks, while those with a foot size under 33 may participate in the hike wearing snowshoes (snowshoes under this size are not available).
