Full description
'Let it snow, let it snow, let it is snow'! If this tune resonates in your head all winter long, we know you can't resist the white call of a snowshoe hike!
Join this adventure on the Folgaria Plateau and enjoy a 3-hour walk through unspoilt nature and places linked to the Great War, together with a UIAGM Alpine Guide.
Let there be snow. .. and plenty of it!
What we will do
The meeting point is 15 minutes before the indicated time in the hamlet of Gionghi in Lavarone (TN). Here we will meet the Alpine Guide, who will accompany us on our snowshoe hike!
After handing over our snowshoes and poles, we will participate in an initial briefing to familiarise ourselves with the equipment and the route.
The guide will choose the route according to the level of the group and the snow conditions. The alternatives will be different: we will be able to follow a themed trail such as the Cimbrian Imaginary Tour in Luserna, ideal for families thanks to its wooden sculptures; or the Vaia Dragon Trail in Magrè (Gionghi) or the Passo Coe and Base Tuono itineraries, linked to the historical memory of the First World War.
All routes are ring-shaped, without overhangs or exposed sections, with height differences between 200 and 350 metres and starting at an altitude of 1, 200 metres. We alternate between stretches in the forest and open pastures and viewpoints, with stops for stories, observations and photographs.
At the end we will return to the starting point; the total duration is approx. 3 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 8 and up; minors must be accompanied by an adult.
Good general physical condition is required: you must be able to walk for 3 hours on snowy ground.
The route is of an easy level, also ideal for a first snowshoe hike.
Other information
The experience takes place every day from 20 December to 28 February and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
The itinerary and length of the snowshoe hike may vary depending on snow conditions and the group's abilities.
In the absence of snow, the activity will turn into a winter trek, subject to the participants' acceptance.
Dogs are allowed if they are of medium size, kept on a leash and muzzled.
On-site parking is available for a fee. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.
