Snowshoe hikers can explore the valleys of Trentino and admire beautiful winter landscapes. Among the best snowshoe trails are those on the Paganella mountain range in the Brenta Dolomites. Also popular for snowshoeing are Folgaria and Lavarone, on the Alpe Cimbra, and the Lagorai mountain range.
Snowshoeing in Alto Adige is equally impressive. The trails start in quaint villages that look like they belong in fairy tale books and wind their way through forests and up mountain slopes. Frozen alpine lakes and jaw-dropping viewpoints are often encountered.
The Dolomites are certainly the most popular destination for winter trekking in Trentino. Among the best locations from which to start a snowshoeing trip are Madonna di Campiglio, Andalo, Molveno, and Fai della Paganella. From here you can take the most scenic routes between the Brenta Dolomites and the Adamello Park.
In the Canazei area of Val di Fassa, you can snowshoe in the shadow of the Marmolada and climb up to Sass Pordoi for truly stunning views of the Trentino Dolomites. There are many offers that combine the snowshoe hike with lunches, aperitifs or dinners at the mountain hut. The easier trails are also suitable for children. In fact, the little ones will look forward to wearing these curious “footwear” and sinking into the fresh snow!
Among the most atmospheric winter experiences in the mountains is night snowshoeing. These walks are organized starting in the afternoon, so that you can admire the snowy landscape enveloped in the hues of sunset. Usually you stop at a refuge to have dinner all together and then go down to the valley when it is all dark, accompanied by moonlight and a headlamp.
Snowshoeing tours with a Mountain Guide vary in price depending on the duration, location and any extras included, such as lunches or dinners. Here are some examples. A 3-hour snowshoe hike in Andalo on Paganella costs €25 per person. In the Fassa Valley, a snowshoe hike with lunch at a mountain lodge costs €50 per person, while an overnight snowshoe hike with dinner costs €65 per person. Snowmobiling or sledding is also included in this case.
If you’re looking for original ideas for your Christmas gifts or want to celebrate an anniversary with a special activity, you’ve come to the right place! It is often thought that the most suitable season for hiking is summer, but in reality the experiences and suggestions that the mountains in winter can provide are unparalleled.
By gifting snowshoeing in Trentino, you will offer a loved one the opportunity to immerse themselves in breathtaking views and experience moments of leisure and fun in locations that the whole world envies us. So why not take the opportunity to impress with an activity that everyone will enjoy?

There were two guides running the group, well organised. The only thing is that it does not last three hours as described, but I would say an hour and a half. Otherwise lots of snow and an experience to be had

It was a wonderful experience, quite simple and suitable for people like us who are not regular visitors to the mountains in winter. The guide explained various notions about the flora and fauna around us in a very interesting and engaging way. I highly recommend this activity.
