POV: you are snowshoeing inside history!
Experience an exciting snowshoe hike on Mount Ongara, in the heart of the Asiago Plateau, in the company of an Alpine Guide.
Reach a vantage point linked to the First World War and let yourself be enchanted by the views from the plateau to the Dolomites. .. and beyond!
What we will do
The appointment is at 9: 00 a. m. at the meeting point in Gallio (VI), one of the 7 municipalities of the Asiago Plateau. Here we will meet the Alpine Guide, who will hand us snowshoes and poles and hold a briefing before departure.
We will start from a refuge located at an altitude of about 1, 700 metres. The route will be a loop, approximately 5 km long, with 300 metres of altitude difference. The first part of our snowshoeing on Mount Ongara will take place within a spruce forest.
After leaving the forest, we will reach a wide ridge, from which there is a 360-degree view of the entire Asiago Plateau. We will reach Monte Cimon, the site of a First World War observatory, an ideal point from which to admire, on clear days, the Dolomites, the Po Valley and even the Venetian Lagoon.
We will conclude the loop by returning to the starting point. The total duration of the experience will be about 4 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 12 and up. Minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The route is easy, with no overhangs or exposed sections, and is ideal for a first snowshoe hike.
Other information
The experience takes place from December to March and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 5 participants.
If there is no snow, the experience can be changed to a winter trekking with crampons, subject to the participants' acceptance.
Dogs are allowed: if you wish to participate with your four-legged friend, please inform the guide in advance at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.
On-site parking is available for a fee. The meeting point can be reached by public transport (shuttle bus Centro Fondo Campomulo) .

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
