What is it like to walk on a long white carpet?
To find out, join a snowshoe hike in Montespluga, in the heart of Valchiavenna, and immerse yourself in a high-altitude landscape in the company of an Alpine Guide.
An experience of about 3 hours to fill your eyes with beauty, among the frozen lakes and magnificent peaks near Madesimo!
What we will do
The appointment is 5 minutes before 10: 00 a. m. at the meeting point in Madesimo, at Montespluga (SO) . Awaiting us will be the Alpine Guide who will accompany us on this adventure!
We will begin our activity with a briefing during which the guide will explain how to use the equipment correctly and the characteristics of the environment we are going to explore; we will then receive snowshoes and poles.
Once we are ready, we will go snowshoeing in the Val Loga plain, at an altitude of around 1, 910 metres. We will be moving on mostly flat and very easy terrain, ideal for enjoying the panorama without too much effort. Along the way, we will make several stops to admire the frozen lake of Monte Spluga and the imposing surrounding peaks: we will enjoy a privileged view of Pizzo Suretta and Pizzo Tambò, the highest peak in Valchiavenna.
We will continue our loop tour immersed in the snowy white of the valley, listening to the guide's tales of the local flora and fauna. The route we will cover will be about 4-5 km with an altitude difference of only 200 metres, with no exposed sections.
We will finally return to the meeting point in Montespluga, where we will conclude the activity with a debriefing. The experience will last a total of about 3 to 4 hours, varying according to the pace of the group.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 10 and up. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first snowshoeing trip.
Other information
The experience takes place on Sundays from December to March and is confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of 7 participants.
Duration and itinerary may vary depending on snow and weather conditions and participants' abilities, at the guide's discretion.
Leashed dogs are allowed.
Free parking is available on site. The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport.

If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
