Etna 's nature amazes you even in winter, with snow whitening the slopes of the volcano and enveloping everything in silence. Experience this magical atmosphere with a snowshoe hike on Mount Etna!

What we will do
The meeting point for the activity is in the vicinity of Taormina, where the guide will pick you up by shuttle bus (after booking, you will agree on the meeting point with the guide or indicate an exact address). In about 45 minutes we will reach the start of our snowshoe hike on Etna, not far from Piano Provenzana.
Snowshoes on our feet and poles in hand, we will make our way along the snow-covered volcanic paths towards the Sartorius craters. We will pass through dense birch forests and when we reach the highest point (around 1800 m altitude), we will stop to admire the marvellous panorama of the Nebrodi and Peloritani mountains, as far as the coasts overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
We will then continue on our way to a refuge where we will stop to eat something and warm up in front of the fireplace (lunch is not included in the participation fee). After some relaxation, the shuttle will pick us up to take us back to Taormina.
Thesnowshoe hi ke lasts a total of 3 hours for a distance of 4 km. Considering the transfers, the activity will last a total of 5 hours.

This activity takes place in December, January and February, snow permitting, and is confirmed with a minimum of 2 participants.
After booking, you can tell the guide theaddress for the pick-up if you live in the area of Taormina, Giardini Naxos and surroundings. If you are coming from outside, the appointment will be at the car park just outside the Giardini Naxos motorway exit.
You can ask the guide to provide you with suitable trekking boots free of charge.
Depending on the guide's availability, you will be able to agree on a different departure time.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for the safe conduct of the activity (in the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for you to conduct the activity. You can freely choose whether or not to accept these proposals. If you can’t retrieve it, we will process a full refund! If you have set the date for your Gift Voucher and bad weather did not allow the activity to take place, the Voucher remains regularly valid until the expiration date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
