Full description
In the heart of the Aosta Valley there is a magical place where hares and chamois leave their footprints in the fresh snow.
Come and discover it with a snowshoe hike in Val di Rhêmes, in the Gran Paradiso National Park.
Accompanied by a guide, you will walk along a gentle path in the valley bottom towards Lake Pellaud. A pleasant emerald-coloured place, at an altitude of about 1825 metres, immersed in a dense forest and surrounded by magnificent peaks.
What we will do
The meeting point is 10 minutes before 10:00 a.m. in Rhêmes-Notre-Dame (AO). Here we will meet the guide who will give us all the information about the route and hand over the snowshoes and poles (included).
Snowshoes on our feet, we will immediately get into the heart of the hike, taking the path in the Rhêmes Valley which will lead us to the enchanting Pellaud Lake, whose surface is frozen in winter.
The itinerary will be simple and without technical difficulties. We will walk peacefully on fresh snow along a route with 150 metres of altitude difference, through snow-covered forests and enchanting views of the surrounding peaks.
The return can be done on the same route and, if we are lucky, we will be able to spot the typical alpine fauna that populates these valleys, such as white hares and chamois.
The activity will last about 3 hours in total and will end with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for everyone from 8 years old and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Other information
The excursion is bookable every Sunday from December to March and is confirmed with a minimum of 8 participants.
The duration and itinerary may vary depending on snow and weather conditions at the guide's discretion.
Dogs are not allowed to participate.
The meeting point is not easily accessible by public transport; there is free parking on site.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
