Full description
You know when you look at a snow-covered mountain and think: "Wow, what a sight!"? Well, now you can do it with snowshoes on your feet, as you leave your tracks in the snow of Pila, the queen of Aosta Valley ski resorts.
Between one step and the next, you will find yourself surrounded by silent forests, snow-white valleys and, above all, an incredible panorama of the highest mountains in Italy.
An environmental guide will accompany you along the3½-hour itinerary and tell you about the most fascinating naturalistic curiosities to transform each step into a discovery!
What we will do
We will meet 15 minutes before 10 a. m. at the arrival of the cable car at Pila, in Gressan (AO), where we will be welcomed by the environmental guide.
After a short briefing on safety rules, we will set off along the most evocative paths in the area to walk in total peace and breathe in the crisp mountain air.
Together with the guide and depending on the preferences of the group, we will decide whether to follow the route to the Grivelalpine pasture or to ascend further to the Grimmondet alpine pasture. Both destinations offer an extraordinary 360° view of the valley floor and the 4000-metre peaks of the Aosta Valley, including Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn and Gran Combin.
We will enter the enchanting fir forests, enveloped in silence and surrounded only by snow, far from the crowded slopes to remain in close contact with nature. In addition, the guide will describe the characteristics of the surrounding environment, making the experience interesting and unique.
The activity will last a total of about 3. 5 hours and will end with the return to the starting point.
Who it is aimed at
This snowshoe hike is of an easy level and is suitable for everyone aged 5 years and over. Minors must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Other information
This activity can be carried out from December to March every Sunday, and is confirmed when there are at least 10 participants, weather permitting. The location of the snowshoe hike will be confirmed a day or two before, after checking the snow and weather conditions. Contact the guide the day before the activity to confirm the course and location.
Snowshoes and poles are not included and can be hired on site at a cost of €10, payable in cash on the day of the activity. To hire them, please contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email.
For those who reach the meeting point by gondola, please allow adequate time for arrival.
The excursion will be led by a specialised and exclusive Gran Paradiso National Park guide.
Dogs are allowed, provided they are muzzled.

What happens in case of bad weather?
If you have made a fixed date reservation and the weather conditions are not suitable for carrying out the activity safely (according to the expert opinion of the guide), you will be refunded the full amount paid. The guide may suggest an alternative date or time for the activity. You are free to choose whether or not to accept these suggestions. If you are unable to reschedule, we will proceed with a full refund! If you have set the date of your Gift Voucher and bad weather has prevented the activity from taking place, the Voucher remains valid until the expiry date indicated on it.
If I cancel the reservation, can I get a full refund?
For this activity, the cancellation policy is flexible. You get a full refund if you cancel within 5 days from the activity start date. Within 4 and 3 days from the activity start date you will get a 50% refund. You can find the full policies in the Cancellation Policy section.
