Full description
Deer or roe deer, whose footprint in the snow?
You'll find out by taking part in our snowshoe hike in the Pollino National Park: in the company of an Environmental Hiking Guide, you'll follow and learn to recognise the tracks of the animals that inhabit the park.
A two-hour experience, which you can end... on a toboggan!
What we will do
The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in the province of Potenza, in the vicinity of Viggianello or Rotonda, depending on the best snow and weather conditions. Awaiting us will be the Environmental Hiking Guide and Official Guide of the Pollino National Park, who will accompany us on this adventure!
From the meeting point, there will be a short transfer by our own means of transport to reach the location of the experience. Once at the destination, we will receive our equipment and take part in a briefing in preparation for the activity, during which the guide will provide all the useful information for a carefree experience.
We will snowshoe in the beautiful setting of the Pollino National Park, at an altitude of 1,300-1,600 metres. We will enter a forest, following the tracks of animals: we will learn to recognise the footprints of hare, fox, wild boar, deer and other park inhabitants! The tracks will lead us to a vantage point with views of the snow-capped peaks of the Pollino Massif. On the way back, it will also be possible to request a free toboggan!
We will finally return to the meeting point; the route is 3 km long with a maximum altitude difference of 100 metres. The experience will last a total of 2 hours.
Who it is aimed at
The experience is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant. Children from 0 to 5 years old participate free of charge without snowshoes: contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate their presence.
A shoe size of 32 or more is required to participate.
The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first snowshoeing trip.
