Full description

In Basilicata you will see one of the most beautiful sunsets of your life.

That's exactly what you'll see on a snowshoe hike in the Pollino National Park: in the company of an environmental hiking guide, you'll reach a vantage point with a view of the snow-capped peaks of the Pollino Massif from where you can watch the sunset spectacle.

A 2-hour experience, which will end with the lighting up of the stars (and the head torch)!

What we will do

The appointment is 10 minutes before the selected time at the meeting point in the province of Potenza, in the vicinity of Viggianello or Rotonda, depending on the best snow and weather conditions. Awaiting us will be the Environmental Hiking Guide and Official Guide of the Pollino National Park, who will accompany us on this adventure!

From the meeting point, there will be a short transfer by our own means of transport to reach the location of the experience. Once at the destination, we will receive our equipment and take part in a briefing in preparation for the activity, during which the guide will provide all the useful information for a carefree experience.

We will snowshoe in the beautiful setting of the Pollino National Park, at an altitude of 1,300-1,600 metres. We will enter a forest, until we reach a vantage point with a view of the snow-capped peaks of the Pollino Massif: from up here, we will enjoy the spectacle of sunset! At dusk, we will put on our head torch and walk into the darkness of the evening, in an even more evocative setting.

We will finally return to the meeting point; the route is 3 km long with a maximum altitude difference of 200 metres. The experience will last a total of 2 hours.

Who it is aimed at

The experience is suitable for ages 6 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult participant. Children from 0 to 5 years old participate free of charge without snowshoes: contact the guide at the contact details given in your booking confirmation email to indicate their presence.

A shoe size of 32 or more is required to participate.

The experience is of an easy level and suitable for a first snowshoeing trip.
