Full description
An expanse of snow glistening in the moonlight, the tranquillity of the evening and a beautiful starry sky are the ingredients for unforgettable memories!
With this 2½-hour snowshoe hike in the province of Turin, you will reach an altitude of 2,035 m with a nature guide and admire the stars shining above you. Then, halfway up, you can refresh yourself with an aperitif in a mountain hut.
It will be a unique experience that will enchant you!
What we will do
We will meet at the meeting point in Claviere (TO), where our nature guide will be waiting for us, who will immediately hand us snowshoes , poles and a head torch (included).
Afterwards, we will have a short initial briefing to learn how to walk on snowshoes and, when we feel confident, we will start the snowshoe hike. The first section will be very easy and perfect for getting used to the snowpack conditions. We will see larches, pines and a few snowmobiles passing by. Then, we will continue on the Cippo Vinçon forest path.
At the halfway point, 2 km long and with an altitude difference of 160 m, we will reach an altitude of 2,035 m and our efforts will be rewarded by the sight of a magnificent starry sky. Above us, the stars will make the natural scenery around us unique. After spending a few minutes with our noses in the air, we will stop for about 40 minutes at the Baita Gimont to refresh ourselves with a nice aperitif or a hot drink (not included).
Once we have left, we will return to our starting point by snowshoeing on a downhill path. In the meantime, the guide will tell us some anecdotes about the area that will make us end the experience with a smile.
The total duration of the activity, including the initial briefing and stop, is 2½ hours.
Who it is aimed at
The activity is suitable for ages 10 and up. Unaccompanied minors under the age of 18 may participate subject to signing a waiver by a responsible adult.
There are a few stretches along the route that might disturb those who suffer from vertigo.
Other information
The activity is available from December to April and will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum of 4 participants.
By requesting in advance via the contact details in the booking confirmation e-mail and paying a supplement on site, it will be possible to dine at a local hut at the end of the 2 ½-hour experience.
Dogs are allowed.
The meeting point cannot be reached by public transport, while free parking spaces are available nearby.
